Tsunoda Stylings is a Japan-based agency that strives to create successful, responsive websites that are fast, easy to use, and built with the best techniques. Not too long after we opened our doors, we received a request from an amazing entrepreneur that wanted her website refreshed and redesigned.

Please meet Desiree Mingo. Tre's Lunchbox is a lifestyle brand that offers informative and nutritious tips, tricks, and recipes, with cute, fun, and environmentally-safe tableware. Inspired by her own son, Desiree Mingo creates beautiful, healthy meals on custom bamboo plates! The plates are made from 100% bamboo and are BPA-free making them not only great for the environment but the custom design serves as a reminder for portion control. It also has a suction-based bottom so that it sticks to the smooth surface preventing mess during mealtime. Interview with Desiree Mingo:

Jasmine: When did you start your business?

Desiree: I launched my business in September 2020.

Jasmine: Why did you decide to become a business owner?

Desiree: My passion lies in entrepreneurship, I love helping others and solving problems creatively. Also while the faceplates are created to look like African American boys or girls, one of my missions was to start a conversation about race and how to be a kind and respectful human. Also to give mothers and parents a platform in which they can feel comfortable talking about the things no one else is talking about.

Jasmine: What was your mission at the start of your company?

Desiree: My mission at the start of the company and today is to be a constant and consistent partner to the ever-evolving modern parent, solving for the pain points centered around mealtime through our sustainable, modern, functional, and inclusive infant and toddler tableware.

Jasmine: Does your business give back to your community?

Desiree: Yes, our social impact givebacks are to black maternal health, food access, and equity for the under-resourced, and mom projects helping to give working moms the flexibility needed to run the world and home. We will start our partnerships in Q2 by donating to organizations that support these efforts

Jasmine: What is unique about your company?

Desiree: We are the only black mom-owned tableware company.

Jasmine: How did you come up with the name for your company?

Desiree: My son is a 3rd and we call him Tre, he is the inspiration behind the entire brand. We chose lunchbox because initially I was a mom posting her kid's lunchbox meals for daycare and it turned into a brand after I recognized that mothers that looked like me were looking for guidance and support in this area.

Jasmine: What services or products do you offer?

Desiree: We offer 100% BPA FREE bamboo infant and toddler tableware. Our products are designed in the United States.

Jasmine: What products would you like to add in the future?

Desiree: We have a bowl set we are currently working on that we are looking to release this year. In the future, we look forward to expanding the collection to include utensils, cups, cutlery, and of course a lunchbox amongst several other products we have in our pipeline.

Jasmine: What advice would you give to anyone who wanted to start their own business?

Desiree: Do it, don't wait until everything is "right" just get started because it will never be "right".

Jasmine: What are your goals for 2022? Any closing comments for our readers?

Desiree: Our goal for 2022 is to increase brand awareness and brand memorability. Large-scale growth.

Yes, please visit our website (www.treslunchbox.com) and our social media pages @Treslunchbox. And remember, our plates basically serve as a communication tool between a parent and a child. It gets the conversation started. It is important to feed their brains and mind and the plate is a representation to make them feel special so they are seen and heard. This is a great conversation starter for our friends who are non African American too.
